About Redditory

Redditory is an independent directory of 64,832 Reddit communities, sorted into 29 categories and published in seven languages. It exists to answer one question quickly: which subreddits exist for a given topic, and how big are they?

Where the data comes from

Every subreddit name, subscriber count, title and description on this site is retrieved from the public Reddit API. Nothing is hand-written into the catalog and nothing is scraped from private or logged-in views. Counts are refreshed when the directory is rebuilt, and the date of the last rebuild is shown on category pages.

Redditory is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reddit, Inc. Reddit is a trademark of Reddit, Inc. Community descriptions belong to their respective moderators.

How categories are assigned

Categories are assigned automatically. Each community is matched against keyword sets for every category, weighted so that a match in the subreddit name counts more than a match in its description. Communities that match nothing land in a general category rather than being forced into a specific one.

This is a heuristic, not editorial judgement, and it will occasionally be wrong. If you find a community in the wrong place, tell us and we will fix the rule, not just the single entry.

What we do not claim

Adult content

Some categories contain communities that Reddit flags as 18+. These are hidden behind an explicit toggle and are not shown by default. Pages in the adult section are marked so that search engines can apply their own safety filters.

Corrections

If something here is wrong — a miscategorised community, a stale count, or a listing you want removed — see the contact page. Corrections are welcome and are the main way this directory improves.
