How big is r/robotics?
Created in 2008, r/robotics has had over a decade to grow and is a large community by Reddit standards. Within Communities & Discussion it ranks #392 of 6,870 communities we track — the top 5.7% of the category by subscriber count. That puts it about 109× the median Communities & Discussion subreddit, which has 3,056 members. It is a work-safe community with no 18+ flag on Reddit.
For scale, the largest Communities & Discussion community we track is r/AskReddit with 59,202,832 members — roughly 177 times the size of r/robotics. Reddit itself launched in 2005, so a subreddit created in 2008 sits in the early wave of community building on the platform. Subscriber counts indicate reach, not activity — a large community can be quiet, and a smaller one busy.
