Created in 2011, r/selfpublish has had over a decade to grow and is a large community by Reddit standards. Within Other it ranks #259 of 5,839 communities we track — the top 4.4% of the category by subscriber count. That puts it about 593× the median Other subreddit, which has 433 members. It is a work-safe community with no 18+ flag on Reddit.
For scale, the largest Other community we track is r/Fauxmoi with 6,766,745 members — roughly 26 times the size of r/selfpublish. Reddit itself launched in 2005, so a subreddit created in 2011 sits in the middle wave of community building on the platform. Subscriber counts indicate reach, not activity — a large community can be quiet, and a smaller one busy.
