Created in 2008, r/wikipedia has had over a decade to grow and is a large community by Reddit standards. Within Art & Design it ranks #79 of 2,509 communities we track — the top 3.1% of the category by subscriber count. That puts it about 371× the median Art & Design subreddit, which has 1,796 members. It is a work-safe community with no 18+ flag on Reddit.
For scale, the largest Art & Design community we track is r/EarthPorn with 23,638,997 members — roughly 35 times the size of r/wikipedia. Reddit itself launched in 2005, so a subreddit created in 2008 sits in the early wave of community building on the platform. Subscriber counts indicate reach, not activity — a large community can be quiet, and a smaller one busy.
